Deal with the fact your children will be moving away from friends.
Plan a farewell party for your children and their friends. Encourage them to exchange pictures and addresses and explain how they can stay in touch. Discuss how much fun it will be to make new friends while staying in touch with the friends they already have.

The day before the move, unplug appliances, disconnect gas and water lines, deodorize and dry them. Pack the washer so the tub cannot rotate. If you are not confident of your ability to properly disconnect and service appliances yourself, ask your American Red Ball agent for the name of a third party service provider who can do this for you.
